StatSheet Projects UCLA as NCAA Tournament Bubble Team Nine Seed: 02/25/2013

StatSheet is projecting UCLA as a bubble team for the NCAA Tournament with potentially a nine seed. The Bruins are sitting at #48 in the StatSheet StatRank with a 20-7 overall record and a 10-4 record in the Pac 12.

During the last four games, UCLA looked solid with wins against USC, Stanford, and Washington State but also took on a loss against RPI #43 California.

UCLA is average against top competition, with a 9-6 record against the RPI Top 100 that includes a 4-4 record against the RPI Top 50 but a 1-2 record against AP ranked teams. The Bruins have four quality wins including AP #12 Arizona, RPI #26 Colorado, RPI #43 California, and RPI #37 Missouri. They also have two bad losses including RPI #103 USC and RPI #198 Cal Poly.

The last four teams into the NCAA Tournament with at-large bids are Baylor (16-11, 7-7 Big 12, StatRank #61), Temple (19-8, 8-5 A-10, StatRank #41), La Salle (19-7, 9-4 A-10, StatRank #39), and Southern Miss (21-7, 10-3 C-USA, StatRank #36).

The first four teams out are Alabama (18-9, 10-4 SEC, StatRank #63), St. John's (16-11, 8-7 Big East, StatRank #69), Saint Mary's (24-5, 12-2 West Coast, StatRank #47), and Stanford (16-12, 7-8 Pac 12, StatRank #77).

The next four out are Arkansas (17-10, 8-6 SEC, StatRank #73), Boise State (18-8, 6-6 Mountain West, StatRank #45), Maryland (19-8, 7-7 ACC, StatRank #67), and Virginia (19-8, 9-5 ACC, StatRank #75).
